Former Wartburg coach Dick Walker inducted into Grinnell College Hall of Fame

The late Dr. Dick Walker, long-time Wartburg College wrestling coach and faculty member, was inducted into the Grinnell College Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday, Oct. 27. Walker, a 1956 graduate who lettered in football, track, and wrestling, was recognized posthumously for his life-long devotion to college-level coaching and NCAA Division III athletics.
Walker guided the Wartburg wrestling program to a 180-93-4 dual record in 22 seasons, which included a school-record 43-dual win streak. A three-time Iowa Conference Coach of the Year, he also coached four league championship squads.
