COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Special Wrestle-Off between Nate Gallick and Mike Zadick will be shown on a Live Webcast on www.livesportsvideo.com
Gallick and Zadick will meet Thursday afternoon in a best-of-3 series at 60 kg/132 lbs. in freestyle, with the winner advancing to next month's World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The first match between Gallick and Zadick is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Mountain Time at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The second match is set for 1:30 p.m. The third match, if necessary, will be held at 2:15 p.m.
The Special Wrestle-Off is being held since Gallick requested and received an extension after suffering a foot injury after he won the U.S. Nationals in April. Gallick was unable to compete in June's U.S. World Team Trials because of the injury.
Zadick (Solon, Iowa/Gator WC), a 2006 World silver medalist, won the U.S. World Team Trials to earn the right to face Gallick (Chattanooga, Tenn./Sunkist Kids) in the Special Wrestle-Off.
