Montclair State Univ. discontinues wrestling

MONTCLAIR, NJ--Montclair State University has announced that its intercollegiate wrestling program will be discontinued. The eight members of MSU's wrestling team were informed today of the decision and they, along with potential recruits for the 2006-07 season, will be given whatever support necessary whether they choose to stay at MSU or transfer or apply to other institutions that offer wrestling.
MSU will go into the 2006-07 season with 17 intercollegiate athletic teams.
MSU is located at the intersection of Valley Road and Normal Avenue in Montclair. The campus is one mile south of the junction of routes 3 and 46, 14 miles west of New York City.
