Lester defeated in Junior World Greco-Roman quarterfinals, the last U.S. wrestler competing

Harry Lester (Cuyahoga Valley, Ohio/USOEC/Sunkist Kids) dropped his quarterfinal match at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and was eliminated from medal contention at the Junior World Greco-Roman Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, August 28. Lester was defeated 8-5 by Magomed Magomadov of Russia in the quarterfinals. By reaching the quarterfinals, Lester will place in the top eight of his weight class. No other U.S. wrestler remains in the competition at this point. According to the official webpage, Lester finished fifth in the weight class in the finals standings. One other U.S. Greco-Roman wrestler advanced as far as the quarterfinals, Jeff Courtney (Fairmont, W.V./Mountaineer WC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Courtney was also beaten by a Russian wrestler, Anatoly Makeev, in the quarterfinal round.
