USA Wrestling Women’s Freestyle OPTC Resident Program

Sr Resident Program Structure (on /off campus)

Performance Standpoint

  • Olympian
  • 2024 Olympic Team Trials Qualifier
  • 2021-2024 Sr World Medalist
  • 2021-2024 Sr World Team
  • 2024 Sr National Team (Top 4 from OTT)
  • 2024 Sr World Trial Finalist (55,59,65,72 from WTT)
  • 2024 NCWWC (NCAA) Collegiate Nationals Top 3 (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 NAIA Collegiate Nationals Top 3 (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 NJCAA Collegiate Nationals Top 2 (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 U23 World Team
  • 2024 U23 National Team - Top 3
  • 2024 U20 National Team - Top 3
  • 2021-2024 U20 World Medalist

Other criteria in review: 

  • Can and will help USA World and Olympic teams in the future
  • Can benefit from the structure and services that the OPTC offers
  • Athletes that are good teammates and want to work within a team structure
  • High caliber prospect selected and endorsed by the USA Wrestling WFS National Coaching Staff

EAP Program Structure (on /off campus)

The OPTC will in large part be a development step for U17 / U20 athletes within the development system.

On-site housing will be given to an athlete for 1 year, after that time, if the athlete would like to continue training at the OPTC, they will need to reapply. Spaces will be limited.

  • 2024 U20 National Team - Top 3
  • 2024 U17 World Championships top 5 (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 U17 World Team Trials- Top 2 (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 USMC Junior National Champion (Senior UWW weights)
  • 2024 USMC 16U Nationals Champion (Senior UWW weights)

Other criteria in review:

  • Can and will help USA World and Olympic teams in the future
  • Can benefit from the structure and services that the OPTC offers
  • Athletes that are good teammates and want to work within a team structure
  • High school senior or gap year student-athlete
  • High school seniors must be enrolled in an online program
  • Age 17 years and older
  • Have attended a USA Wrestling National Development camp or tour

The final area that is evaluated is a fit in the program. Attributes considered include, but are not limited to, skill, maturity level, and work ethic. The WFS resident program consists of mainly Senior level athletes and the goal is to prepare EAP athletes for success.


Resident Program Facility Use Structure (off campus)

A facility-use athlete will have access to mat training. They will not have access to Team V services, including Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition etc. The cost to be a part of this program is $200 per year and the athlete must have a standard as follows:

  • 2024 USMC 16U Nationals- Top 2 (Senior UWW weights)
  • All athletes must have approval from WFS National Staff to be a part of the program
