David Van Weems, wrestling at 197 pounds for Cerritos College, has been named the Tech-Fall California Community College Wrestler of the Week.

Van Weems was the 197-pound champion at the Bill Musick Open in Fresno and was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler. Van Weems finished the day with a solid victory over top-ranked Wes Ruffer from Lassen College.

Van Weems attended Centennial HS in Corona, Calif., and is a multiple CIF state placer. He is coached by Donny Garriott and the Cerritos Falcon staff.
