Cam Simaz named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week

Cam Simaz (Ithaca, N.Y./Finger Lakes WC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Simaz won the Northeast Regional freestyle title at 84 kg/185 lbs. this past weekend in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
Simaz won three matches on the day, defeating Enoch Francois 1-0, 0-3, 5-2 in the finals.
With his win, Simaz qualifies for June's U.S. World Team Trials in Stillwater, Okla.
Simaz was a 2012 NCAA champion at 197 pounds for Cornell University.
