Gregg Stensgard named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Oct. 4-10

Gregg Stensgard (Vernal, Utah/Veterans Team USA) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Oct. 4-10.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Stensgard won a silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Veterans World Championships, which were held Oct. 7-8 in Raciborz, Poland.
Stensgard claimed a silver medal at 85 kg in Division D (51-55 years).
Stensgard opened with victories over Naser Yaghoubi of Iran and Boguslaw Zapotczny of Poland. He was defeated in the championship finals by Michael Bulgrin of Germany.
Veterans are athletes who are 35 years old and above.
