Kristie Davis named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 3-9

Kristie Davis (Oklahoma City, Okla./Gator WC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for May 3-9.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Davis won a gold medal at the Pan American Championships on Saturday in Rionegro, Colombia. Davis won the women's freestyle title at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.
Davis, a two-time World champion and nine-time World medalist, had four victories on the way to the title.
Davis defeated 2009 World bronze medalist Justine Bouchard of Canada in the finals, 2-1, 2-0. Davis pinned the first three opponents she faced prior to her bout with Bouchard.
Davis, who wrestles for Oklahoma City University, took the 2009 season off before making her 10th U.S. World Team in 2010. She placed second at April's U.S. Open.
