Kristie Davis named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4

Kristie Davis (Oklahoma City, Okla./Oklahoma City University) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Davis recorded a pair of falls at 72 kg/158.5 lbs. to help Oklahoma City University down Wayland Baptist 49-0 and Cumberlands 37-8 in pair of dual meets on Oct. 2 at home.
Davis, formerly Kristie Marano, is a nine-time World medalist and two-time World champion in women's freestyle wrestling. She recently competed at the 2010 World Championships last month in Moscow, Russia.
