Pitt-Johnstown's Shane Valko named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for March 9-15

Shane Valko (Windber, Pa./Pittsburgh-Johnstown) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for March 9-15.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Valko downed two-time national champion Cody Garcia of Nebraska-Omaha 6-3 in the 133-pound finals at the NCAA Division II Championships on March 13 in Omaha, Neb.
Valko, a senior, was ranked No. 1 and Garcia was ranked No. 2. He placed fourth in the nation as a sophomore and second as a junior.
Valko was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
