Betts, a member of the 2009 U.S. World Team, was defeated in the championship finals at Haparanda by Armen Grigoryan of Russia, 1-0, 2-0.
He opened with a victory over Fisnik Zahiti of Sweden, 0-1, 1-0, 1-0, then stopped American Aaron Sieracki (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) in the semifinals, 2-0, 1-0.
