Clare Booe named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Clare Booe (Tarpon Springs, Fla./Team Florida) was named as USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week on July 18.


Booe won the 112-pound title at the USMC Junior Women’s Nationals, winning her second straight Junior Nationals title. Boee had a dominant performance, with four technical falls and two pins, including a number of wins over ranked opponents.


Booe, ranked No. 6 in the nation, opened with a 47-second pin over Angelina Carpintero of Illinois. She then ran off four straight technical falls over Sophia Renteria of Arizona, Sophia Shultz of Nebraska, No. 23 Riley Rayome in the quarterfinals and No. 8 Gigi Bragg of Michigan in the semifinals. In the championship finals, Booe pinned 2022 Junior Nationals runner-up and No. 5 nationally ranked Zao Estrada of South Carolina.


Boee will be a senior at Wyoming Seminary, where she won a 2022 Prep School Nationals title. She was a 2023 National High School Recruiting Showcase champion, and was fifth in the 2023 U20 Nationals. Prior to Wyoming Seminary, Booe was a two-time Florida state champion for Palm Harbor University High School.
