Six Champions Propel Menlo to Second-Straight NCWA Men’s National Championship

Menlo wins the 2026 NCWA Men's National Championship
BOSSIER CITY, La. – Menlo won six of the 11 weight classes at the 2026 NCWA Men’s National Championships to claim its second consecutive team title. The Oaks had nine wrestlers finish in the top five to earn All-American honors at the three-day event at
Brookshire Grocery Arena.
Isaiah Morales was the only champion to pin his way to the crown after he pinned North Florida’s Josh Daltro 2:30 into the bout. Morales finished 6-0 at 174 pounds for Menlo with five pins and a 19-4 technical fall in the semifinals.
Michael Torres (141 pounds) and Javier Martinez (285 points) also bonused their way to national titles for the Oaks with major decisions. Torres won 9-1, and Martinez collected a 13-3 victory.
At 165 pounds, Kanaipono Tapia used his 1:23 riding time in the finals to collect the riding time bonus point to win a 6-5 decision. Tyger Taam and Diego Morales shutout their championship foes to round out the Menlo champions. Taam earned a 4-0 decision at 149 pounds, and Diego Morales captured a 5-0 win at 197 pounds.
Menlo was the only team with multiple champions and finished with 235.5 points.
Life placed second overall with 196 points and had the most All-Americans in the field with 13. Jaden New won the 157-pound title for the Running Eagles to pace the team. Tarleton State rounded out the top three with 164 points and one champion in 133-pounder Aidan Medina.
Nurrideen Statts of Williamson was the lone wrestler in the field to win their championship match by technical fall after posting an 18-0 win in the finals.
Apprentice’s David McElravy won the 235-pound championship, and Ezekiel Keel of Ferrum was victorious at 125 pounds to round out the NCWA champions.
