Oklahoma State moves into Top 4 of WIN's TPI; Sinclair takes over No. 1 at 184

Aeoden Sinclair competes at the 2025 National Duals
NEWTON, Iowa — The winter grind of conference dual meets is fully in play, as WIN’s Jan. 20 updated Tournament Power Index (TPI), Top-20 dual-meet teams and individual rankings reflect the results from an action-packed slate of duals last weekend.
Oklahoma State (84) made the jump from No. 5 to No. 4 in the latest TPI, surpassing Iowa (64), as three Cowboys moved into the Top 8 in their respective weight classes to add significant point totals. Penn State remains No. 1 with 151.5 TPI points this week, while Ohio State (102.5) and Iowa State (96) check in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
WIN’s TPI projects where programs could finish at the 2026 NCAA Division I Championships, which will be held March 19-21 in Cleveland.
The following is a breakdown of those individual TPI points per ranking: 20 for 1st, 16 for 2nd, 13.5 for 3rd, 12.5 for 4th, 10 for 5th, 9 for 6th, 6.5 for 7th and 5.5 for 8th. Wrestlers ranked 9-12 earn two points each, followed by one and a half points for wrestlers ranked 13-16 and one point for those ranked 17-20.
Penn State features six top-ranked wrestlers with Nittany Lions Luke Lilledahl (125), Shayne Van Ness (149), PJ Duke (157), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165), Levi Haines (174) and Josh Barr (197) headlining their respective weight classes. Also ranked No. 1 are two defending national champions in Lucas Byrd of Illinois (133) and Jesse Mendez of Ohio State (141). Missouri freshman Aeoden Sinclair takes the No. 1 spot at 184 this week, while Yonger Bastida of Iowa State maintains his grasp atop the 285-pound rankings.
WIN will continue to update the Tournament Power Index, individual rankings and dual-meet rankings each Tuesday of the 2025-26 season.
