U.S. Greco-Roman Wins Seven Gold Medals and Team Title at U17 Pan American Championships

PANAMA CITY, Panama – Team USA capped off the sweep of the Olympic discipline team titles at the 2026 U17 Pan American Championships behind seven gold medals for 230 total points in Greco-Roman at Centro de Alto Rendimiento Luis Tejada.
The 230 points from the U.S. were 89 points ahead of second-place Mexico. Puerto Rico rounded out the top three with 111 points.
Each of Team USA’s gold medalists on Saturday finished as double Pan American champions. Rylen Wax, Lucas Forman, Evan Restivo, Cooper Mathews, Ryder Schulte, Salah Tsarni and Lucas Feuerbach all won gold in both Greco-Roman and freestyle.
Wax (45 kg), Tsarni (92 kg) and Feuerbach (110 kg) all went unbeaten in their round robin brackets. Feuerbach pinned his first three opponents within the first minute, then notched an 8-0 technical fall to finish out the day. Tsarni only gave up one point on Saturday and capped off the night with a pair of four-point throws to seal the technical fall in the medal round. Wax went 4-0 in the morning session to win gold before the session break.
Restivo was the Golden Boot winner for the Most Outstanding Wrestler following a 5-0 day with four technical falls to win the title at 51 kg.
In the 48 kg weight class, Forman shutout his first two opponents, then posted an 11-7 win in the championship for his second gold in three days.
Mathews teched his way to gold with three straight technical falls and outscoring his opposition 30-2.
At 80 kg, Schulte capped off Team USA’s gold medalists with a 6-1 decision.
Joaquin Chacon (65 kg) and Aiden Arnett (71 kg) both appeared in gold medal bouts but suffered 8-4 setbacks to claim silver medals.
Jeremy Carver rounded out the U.S. medalists after winning bronze at 55 kg. Carver trailed 7-0 then scored 15-straight points to secure the technical fall, 15-7.
