The United States will send a talented group of young athletes to Guatemala City, Guatemala, to compete at the U15 Pan American Championships on May 22-24.
The women’s freestyle team was decided at the 2025 Women’s National in Spokane, Washington, in April, while the men’s freestyle/Greco-Roman teams were decided at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At Women’s Nationals in April, the 2025 U15 Pan American Championships team in women’s freestyle was formed. At 42 kg, champion Olivia Hernandez of Oregon was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Hernandez was the lone repeat champion in the U15 division.
A pair of athletes were 14U champions last year and found a place atop the U15 podium in 2025—Bella Manno of New Jersey at 48 kg and Camilla Hathaway of Pennsylvania at 66 kg.
Nebraska’s Jaelyn Anderson won the 36 kg title with 8-8 criteria win over Minnesota’s Freyda Nelson in the finals. Anderson was a champion in the 12U division in Spokane in 2024.
All 10 spots for boys were decided following a verification process by USA Wrestling’s National Teams Department. The boys will compete in both freestyle and Greco-Roman for the USA at the U15 Pan American Championships.
Double champions in both Greco-Roman and men’s freestyle from the U15 Pan American Team Trials who qualified for the U.S. team included Johnathan Thompson (38 kg, Sebolt Wrestling Academy), Mason Milsaps (57 kg, Boneyard Wrestling Academy) and Daniel Jackson (85 kg, Southern Illinois Bulldogs WC).
Tommy Rowlands (68 kg, Ohio Crazy Goats Wrestling) placed first in Greco-Roman, and was the runner-up in freestyle, to secure a spot on the Pan American Championships team. Lewis Davis (52 kg, Threestyle Wrestling of Oklahoma) was the champion in Greco-Roman and placed third in freestyle.
Athletes will earn points for competing in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle. The highest point value (both styles combined) will earn the right to compete in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle at the 2025 U15 Pan American Championships. If there is a tie in point value, the following criteria will be used in ranked order:
1. Double All-Americans from the trials event, that won in either style.
2. Double All-Americans from the trials event with the most pins in the least amount of time.
3. Double All-Americans from the trials event with the most tech-falls in the least amount of time.
4. Double All-Americans from the trials event with the most total points scored.
5. If there are no double All-Americans, the spot will be awarded to the champion from either Greco-Roman or Freestyle that has earned the most pins in the least amount of time.
The U15 Pan American Championships begin on May 22. The full schedule is listed below.
