Chicago sweeps titles at Beat the Streets National Duals in Philadelphia

Chicago Girls and Chicago Boys win titles at the 2025 Beat the Streets National Duals in Philadelphia, Pa.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The 2025 Beat the Streets National Duals were held at The Palestra in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with both Chicago Boys and Chicago Girls teams winning titles.
Chicago Boys won the championship dual, 49-20, over Philadelphia Boys. Backed by three pins and eight technical falls, Chicago won 11 of the 15 matches. Alex Valentin (132), Arkail Griffin (175) and Jeremy Powell Jr. (113) secured wins by fall in the dual. Chicago went on a strong in the back half of the dual, winning six of the final seven matches.
Philadelphia won four matches, including three technical falls by Farzod Iusufi (144), Luis Desilva (157) and Michael Holmes (126). A decision from Greyson Catlow-Sidler (190) added an additional three team points to Philadelphia’s score.
In the Girls championship dual, Chicago came out on top, 42-25. Los Angeles Girls were the first on the board with a pair of pins from Valeria Miranda (110) and Aubrey Soto (115). Chicago Girls fired back with four-straight pins to take the 20-10 lead, from Demetria Griffin (120), Carmen Jackson (125), Zahabia Badru (130) and Maggie Zuber (135).
A 7-2 decision from Priscilla Monson (140) kept Los Angeles Girls in the mix, but Chicago Girls strung together four more victories to widen the gap. Giancarla Garduno (145) pinned her opponent to add five team points for Chicago Girls, and AJ Grant (155), Sara Martinez (170) and Elena Haugh (190) continued the scoring.
Los Angeles Girls won three of the last four bouts, with a 13-0 technical fall from Isabella Lorenzana (235), a 10-4 decision from Alyaah Bravo (100) and a 10-0 technical fall from Paige Peters (105). Mia Vazquez (95) secured a 10-0 technical fall in 18 seconds to close it out for Chicago Girls.
