FISHERS, Indiana – The fourth Real American Freestyle event delivered big names and several big results, perhaps none bigger than 2025 World Team member Wyatt Hendrickson’s statement win over 2023 World bronze medalist and 2024 Olympian Mason Parris.

A four-point knee-pick from the over-under position, plus a takedown-turn sequence, gave Hendrickson the 13-2 technical fall win over Parris in the second period. The win is further magnified by Parris’ recent gold medal outing at the Bill Farrell Memorial International.

2025 World Teamers David Carr and Kennedy Blades both earned 10-0 technical falls to maintain RAF champion status. Carr, who was fifth at Worlds, downed former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. Blades, who was bronze at Worlds and is an Olympic silver medalist, took out two-time age-group World medalist Alara Boyd in the only women’s match on the card.

2000 Olympic silver medalist and five-time World medalist Yoel Romero earned a 10-0 technical fall over 2019 World Team member Pat Downey for the interim men’s light heavyweight belt. Also grabbing a belt was Dean Hamiti by fall over Evan Wick in the men’s middleweight division.

The upset of the night came at men’s cruiserweight with Parker Keckeisen defeating current 86 kg Senior World champion Zahid Valencia, 10-2. It was the first Senior-level meeting between the two, and a rather stunning upset considering Valencia’s dominant run at the World Championships.

2025 World champion Trent Hidlay took a 5-3 decision over Jacob Cardenas at men’s light heavyweight. Cardenas is one of the up-and-coming Senior-level challengers domestically to Hidlay at 92 kg.

Also earning wins on the card were 2020 Olympic silver medalist Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau at men’s cruiserweight and 2020 Pan American champion Jason Nolf at men’s welterweight.
