Kilty pins for Team USA in friendly women’s freestyle dual meet against Ukraine

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The U.S. women’s freestyle program hosted a team of international athletes from Ukraine in a friendly dual meet on Thursday evening at Xtream Arena in Wrestle Town USA.  

The bright spot for Team USA was a first-period pin by two-time World medalist Macey Kilty against two-time age-group World medalist Oleksandra Rybak at 66 kg. Kilty broke open a scoreless bout by fighting through a head-outside single leg finish, pinning Rybak to her back in the process of the takedown for the win.

The remaining eight matches all went to Ukraine. 2023 U20 World champion Alina Filipovich (60 kg) and 2025 U20 World champion Nadiia Sokolovaska (76 kg) notched pins to highlight the Ukraine performance.
