Jason Mundt and Westray Battle, new Living the Dream Medal Fund Stewards

USA Wrestling is proud to announce the addition of two new Stewards to the Living the Dream Medal Fund (LDMF): Jason Mundt and Westray Battle. These accomplished individuals bring valuable experience and passion to support America's top wrestlers. 

Wes Battle, Senior Vice President at CRAFT Media/Digital in Washington, D.C., has been a long-time donor to USA Wrestling. A U.S. Navy veteran and former Viking Tactics Instructor, Battle has extensive experience in communications and international affairs. He played a crucial role in reinstating wrestling to the Summer Olympics program in 2013 as Chief of Staff for the Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling (CPOW). 

Jason Mundt, a Managing Director at Siguler Guff & Company, brings his financial expertise to the Fund. A graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Mundt also serves as a Director of the US Wrestling Foundation.

The Living the Dream Medal Fund, established in 2009, has paid over $5.5 million in tax-exempt bonuses to 53 World and Olympic medalists. LDMF bonus amounts are as follows:

  • Olympic Games: $250,000 for gold, $50,000 for silver, and $25,000 for bronze
  • World Championships: $50,000 for gold, $25,000 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze

"We're thrilled to welcome Jason and Wes as stewards of the Living the Dream Medal Fund," said Rich Bender, Executive Director of USA Wrestling. "Their commitment will help us continue to support and motivate our nation's top wrestlers as they compete on the world stage."

With the addition of Mundt and Battle, the Fund now sits at 17 Stewards. USA Wrestling has an immediate goal to secure 20 total Stewards, who will contribute 5% each to LDMF bonuses. Three spots remain for those interested in joining this exclusive team supporting America's wrestling champions.
