North Central tops NCAA Women’s Tournament Poll, Iowa is No. 1 in Dual Meet Poll

MANHEIM, Pa. – The top six teams in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women’s Wrestling Coaches’ Poll remained the same. North Central College stays in the top spot, while the University of Iowa is second. King University is third, while McKendree University and Colorado Mesa University round out the top five.
North Central and Iowa each have 15 individuals ranked, with North Central accumulating 128 points while Iowa has 95. King stays at third as they are the third and final team, with at least ten individuals ranked with 12 to accumulate 88 points. McKendree amassed 43 points with nine ranked individuals ranked. Colorado Mesa and Simon Fraser University both have six individuals ranked and accounted for 43 and 31 points, respectively.
Sacred Heart University is seventh with 16 points and five ranked individuals, while Lock Haven University and Aurora University have three.
Lock Haven, ranked eighth with 15 points, edged out Aurora’s 14 points.
New Jersey City University rounds out the top 10 with two ranked individuals and 13 points.
For the first time in program history, Carthage College is ranked, coming in tied for 22nd. Carthage’s Natalie Majer is ranked 10th at 109 points.
The top 10 in the dual rankings stayed the same as Iowa remained atop the poll with a 16-0 record. North Central is second with a record of 13-1, while McKendree is third at 12-2. King is 8-2 and ranked fourth, while Sacred Heart rounds out the top five at 16-3.
The next poll is scheduled to come out prior to the NCWWC National Championships.
