College Wrestling Notebook Week 8: Penn State, Ohio State undefeated at Journeyman Collegiate Duals, NC State downs Cornell

Week eight of the college wrestling continued for many, as the Journeymen Collegiate Duals were held in Nashville, the Reno Tournament of Champions showcased great talent, and top matchups that fans have been waiting for took place. Check out a few notable things that happened in college wrestling during week seven.
Dual of the week
During day two of the Journeymen Collegiate Duals, No. 20 Little Rock secured an upset win over No. 16 Missouri, 24-19. It marked the team’s first ranked win of the season. The Trojans split matches 5-5, earning points through a pin, an injury forfeit, a technical fall, a major decision, and a decision victory.
Upset of the week
Iowa State’s Cody Chittum downed No. 7 Paddy Gallagher of Ohio State, 10-8, at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals on Saturday. No. 13 Iowa State ultimately fell to No. 5 Ohio State, 29-10.

In a highly anticipated matchup at the Journeymen Collegiate Duals, No. 1 Keegan O’Toole battled No. 2 Levi Haines at 174 pounds in No. 16 Missouri’s dual against No. 1 Penn State. Ultimately, O’Toole secured a takedown in sudden victory, narrowly defeating Haines, 4-1. Tony Rotundo captured a few great shots of the match.
Performance of the week
Oregon State’s CJ Hamblin won the 157-pound title at the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday. En route to the title, Hamblin secured wins by major decision and technical fall, before clinching the last of his six wins by sudden victory over Southern Oregon's Aaron Gandara. On Friday night, Hamblin defeated Ryker Fullmer of Utah Valley in a 19-4 technical fall, securing one of four wins for the Beavers in a 20-14 loss.
