UWW announces Vinesh failed weigh in; Hildebrandt (USA) to face Guzman (CUB) in 50 kg finals

United World Wrestling, the international federation for wrestling, announced the following this morning:
VINESH Vinesh (IND) failed second day weigh-in. According to the article 11 of the International Wrestling Rules, VINESH Vines (IND) will be replaced by the wrestler who lost against her in the Semifinal. Therefore, GUZMAN LOPEZ Yusneylis (CUB) will compete in the Final. Repechage SUSAKI Yui (JPN) vs. LIVACH Oksana (UKR) will become Bronze Medal Match.
Sarah Hildebrandt (USA), who won the other semifinal at 50 kg in women’s freestyle, was scheduled to wrestle Vinesh in the finals. She will now wrestle Guzman Lopez instead for the gold medal. The championship finals are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time at Champ-de-Mars Arena.
