125 kg bronze medal - Mason Parris (USA) tech. fall Abdulla Kurbanov (Individual Neutral Athlete), 12-2

Takedown by Parris makes it 2-0 early. Kurbanov forces a step out to close it to 2-1. Parris gets four points taking Kurbanov to his back out of bounds to make it a 6-1 lead. A Kurbanov step out point closes it to 6-2. A Parris spin behind late in the first period gives him an 8-2 lead at the break. In the second period, the USA chants begin, and Parris gets a high single for a takedown and a 10-2 lead. Another low double leg shot by Parris gets a final takedown and a 12-2 technical fall win. MASON PARRIS WINS THE BRONZE AND QUALIFIES THE USA FOR THE PARIS OLYMPIC GAMES.

Taylor put on shot clock and can't score in 30 seconds, giving Yazdani a 1-0 lead. Taylor takes a shot and Yazdani gets four points on the counter throw action, with Taylor getting a one point reversal. The USA challenges. They give Taylor four points, Yazdani two and Taylor another one, making it a 5-3 lead for Taylor. We go to the break. Taylor shoots and finishes to make it 7-3 with 1:05 left. Yazdani tries to turn Taylor but Taylor exposes him, and he presses for the pin with 2.6 seconds left. DAVID TAYLOR IS WORLD CHAMPION FOR THIRD TIME, ALONG WITH AN OLYMPIC GOLD.

Zain gets a high single and takes it out of bounds for a step out and leads 1-0. Single leg takedown for Yazdani gives him a 2-1 lead. Retherford does a nice counter to a takedown and a 3-2 lead. We go to the break with Zain leading 3-2. Retherford scores a takedown in a scramble on the edge to extend his lead to 5-2. Another attack from Retherford becomes a step out, 6-2. Single leg takedown for Retherford makes it 8-2 with 1:44 to go. Zain holds strong as USA-USA cheers come down. Yazdani scores a takedown with 11 seconds left, 8-4. Zain is hit with caution and one, 8-5. Time runs out, and Zain Retherford wins 8-5. ZAIN RETHERFORD IS WORLD CHAMPION.

Vito gets a leg and forces a step out, 1-0. Magomedov shoots on Arujau, a big scramble, and they give Magomedov and Arujau both points. The score says 5-2 for Vito. Magomedov challenges. The officials go two and two, then give two points to Magomedov, two to Arujau twice. It becomes 7-4 in favor of Arujau. We go to the break with Vito winning 7-4. There is a scramble on the edge early on, and Magomedov gets two points, 7-6. The USA challenges which is lost, making it 7-7. Magomedov now has criteria. Vito spins behind for takedown and a 9-7 lead. Vito gets a step out with 16 seconds left, 10-7. Add in a caution and one against Vito two times. It ends 10-9, with Vito the new WORLD CHAMPION

Kougioumtsidis shoots on Dake, who wins the scramble for a takedown and a 4-0 lead. Kougioumtsidis gets a leg attack and ends up taking Dake out of bounds, to make it 4-1. Kougioumtsidis takes some blood time. Time runs out and Kyle Dake wins 4-1. HE CLINCHES THE U.S. BERTH AT THE 2024 PARIS OLYMPICS. And he will wrestle 2020 Olympic champion Zaurbek Sidakov (AIN) in the finals.

Stevan Micic of Serbia used a four-point move in the second period to defeat 2022 World champion Zelimkhan Abakarov (Albania), 6-2 in the 57 kg semifinals to reach the finals. Micic, who grew up in Indiana and wrestled at Michigan, becomes the first Serbian freestyle Olympian, clinching his berth in the Games in Paris.

The semifinals have begun. They are on two mats. It starts with 79 kg, then 92 kg, then 57 kg, then 74 kg. Kyle Dake will battle Georgios Kougioumtsidis (Greece) on Mat C, the final semifinal on that mat. We will update the scores, and come back with full description of Dake's semifinals.

We jump right into the night session. We begin with the Group Two semifinals. Kyle Dake at 74 kg is the only USA athlete in the semifinals from this group. Shortly after is the Group One finals. Going for golds are Vito Arujau (61 kg), Zain Retherford (70 kg) and David Taylor (86 kg). Going for bronze is Mason Parris (125 kg). We will cover both of these rounds in the same live blog.
