Uzun gets a takedown and
traps Russell's arm, getting the first period technical fall.

67 kg - Rakhman Tavmurzaev (AIN) tech.
fall Jordan Hamdan (United States), 9-0

Hamdan falls in his first match as Tavmurzaev gets an
early lead and builds for the 9-0 technical fall.

55 kg - Camden Russell (United States) pin Hassan Alharthi (Saudi Arabia), 2:22

Russell led the back-and-forth match 8-5, before pinning
Alharthi to move on to the quarterfinals.
----

67 kg - Artur Jeremejav (Estonia) dec. Robert Perez III, 3-2

It was a close match that was down to the final seconds,
but Jeremejav held on to win it and see a spot in the bronze medal match.

87 kg - Matej Mandic (Croatia) tech. fall Michael Altomer (United States), 12-4

Altomer falls to Mandic 12-4 in a tough first round match.
The Croatian won his quarterfinal match and we await the semifinals as Altomer could be pulled into repechage.

77 kg - Khvicha Ananidze (Georgia) dec. Payton Jacobson (United States), 7-5

Ananidze builds up a lead, but Jacobson chips away at it.
Challenge in the last seconds, but its Ananidze that is awarded the 7-5 decision.

130 kg - Assylbek Zhanibekuly
(Kazakhstan) pin Kaleb Reeves (United States),
Reeves scored four points on a big throw, but Zhanibekuly
was able to flip the lead getting Reeves to his back. He won by fall, and Reeves falls in his first match.

----

67 kg - Robert Perez III (United States) dec. Umesh Umesh (UWW), 3-1

Perez led 2-0 with an early takedown on the edge. He was awarded a passivity point, but was unable to drive up the score on top. Umesh scored his lone point on a step out. He advances to the second repechage match against Estonia's Artur Jeremejev.

We're fifteen minutes from the start of action as the last
group of U.S. wrestlers is set to take the mat. Camden Russell (55 kg), Jordan Hamdan (63 kg), Payton Jacobson (77 kg), Michael Altomer (87 kg) and Kaleb Reeves (130 kg) will start their tournaments. Robert Perez III (67 kg) is in repechage against Umesh Umesh (UWW).
