WORLD CHAMPION

Wyatt Hendrickson is a 2023 U23 World Champion. In his match, he led 6-0 at the break. Hendrickson explodes in the second to a 13-3 technical fall, and we have our third World champion of the day!

CARDENAS WINS BRONZE

Cardenas gets it done in the final moments! He secures the 92 kg bronze medal with a clutch 4-3 win over Patil and scored the go-ahead takedown with 0:33 left in the contest. He is now a two-time U23 World medalist!

WORLD CHAMPION

Aaron Brooks DOMINATES in the 86 kg finals! 10-0 technical fall. Three takedowns, one four-pointer, and a lace to end it. We have our second U23 World Champion!

WORLD CHAMPION

Keegan O'Toole is a two-time age-group World Champion! O'Toole snags two first period takedowns to lead 4-1 at the break. He adds a takedown in the second period to defeat Imam Ganishov in the finals at 74 kg.

97 kg - Isaac Trumble (United States) tech. fall Sergey Sargsyan (Armenia), 11-0

The United States has another finalist (that's four)! Trumble stuffs a Sargsysan takedown, spins around for two, and locks up the trapped arm gut to end the match, 11-0.

70 kg - Inalbek Sheriev (AIN) dec. Doug Zapf (United States), 9-2

Early in the match, Zapf gave up a shot clock point to trail 1-0 at the break. Sheriev opened up the scoring with a single leg takedown, transitions into a lace and gutwrench. He added another takedown going out of bounds. Zapf trailed 9-0 with just over two minutes to go. Zapf falls in his semifinal 9-2 and will wrestle for the 70 kg bronze medal tomorrow.

We're minutes away from the start of the group two men's freestyle semifinals in Tirana. Doug Zapf will take the mat in a few matches at 70 kg and will face Individual Neutral Athlete Inalbek Sheriev. Isaac Trumble follows at 97 kg and matches up against Armenia's Sergey Sargsyan.


The medal matches will follow and are slated to begin at 6 p.m. local time. Jacob Cardenas (92 kg) will wrestle for bronze, while Keegan O'Toole (74 kg), Aaron Brooks (86 kg) and Wyatt Hendrickson (125 kg) chase gold.
