Women’s College Rankings released: Iowa at No. 1 in NCAA, Life at No. 1 in NAIA

Both the NWCA NCAA Women’s rankings and the NAIA Women’s rankings were released today.


The No. 1 ranked teams in each organization remained the same, with Iowa at No. 1 among NCAA teams and Life No. 1 among NAIA teams.


The top four teams remained the same in the NCAA team rankings, while Grand View hopped over Menlo to become No. 2 in the NAIA rankings.


In addition to the team rankings, both organizations also released their individual rankings.


NCAA WOMEN'S RANKINGS RELEASE


MANHEIM, Pa. – The top four ranked teams remained the same in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Poll. The University of Iowa sits atop the poll, followed by North Central College, King University, and Colorado Mesa University.


The Hawkeyes remain #1 in the poll with 115 points and 14 ranked individuals. North Central has the most individuals ranked with 15, checking in at second. Both Iowa and North Central boast four No. 1-ranked wrestlers. King is ranked third with 90 points and 12 individuals ranked, while Colorado Mesa is fourth with 47 points and eight ranked individuals. McKendree University rounds out the top five with nine ranked individuals and 41 points.


Sacred Heart University has 30 points and has nine individuals ranked as they come in at the sixth spot. Lock Haven University moves up one spot to seventh with 19 points and two ranked individuals, while Simon Fraser University is eighth with 17 points and four ranked individuals. New Jersey City University and Northern Michigan University round out the top 10 with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Both teams have two ranked individuals.


Wartburg College jumps into the poll for the first time as the Knights are tied for 15th with two individuals ranked and 10 points.


The next poll is scheduled to come out before the NWCA National Duals in January.

NAIA WOMEN'S RANKINGS RELEASE


KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Life (Ga.) held the No. 1 spot in the second regular season NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Rating. Grand View (Iowa) and Menlo (Calif.) flipped spots this week for No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Providence (Mont.) climbed up two spots to No. 4 as Southern Oregon remained in the top five. Two new teams joined the top 20 this week with Saint Mary (Kan.) in at No. 15 and Wayland Baptist (Texas) in at No. 20.
