Match of the Day: Gable Steveson and Trent Hillger wrestle at Beat the Streets

On September 17, Beat the Streets held a fundraising event in Hoboken, NJ, with a six-match Senior-level card. The penultimate bout of the night featured college stars Gable Steveson and Trent Hillger.
Steveson finished third in the NCAA Tournament as a true freshman in 2019 and was a 2020 NWCA First-Team All-American after putting together an undefeated season. Hillger earned All-American honors his freshman season, finishing eighth at the 2019 NCAA Tournament and was also named a 2020 NWCA First-Team All-American. The pair have wrestled three times in college, with Steveson winning all three meetings.
However, this match was held under freestyle rules, which gave Steveson arguably an even bigger advantage. Steveson is currently No. 2 on the National Team at 125 kg and a two-time Cadet and one-time Junior World champion.
