ROSEMONT, Ill. – Kyle Jasenski of the Maryland wrestling program and Stephanie Jones of the Maryland women's basketball team were named the Terrapins' Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners in a release made by the conference offices Wednesday afternoon. The Big Ten recognized one male and one female student-athlete from all 14 member institutions for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and competitive spirit.

Jasenski is a native of Schenectady, N.Y. and is coming off his third season wrestling at Maryland. After a successful redshirt year in 2017-18, Jasenski has cemented himself into the starting lineup, missing only two duals in the past two seasons. This past season, Jasenski ranked fourth on the team with five dual wins and represented Maryland at the Big Ten Championships. He earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award earlier this year for wrestling.

A native of Havre de Grace, Md., Jones played in 134 career games for the Terrapins, helping them to three Big Ten championships and two tournament titles. Jones finished her career with 1,302 career points and 693 rebounds. She is third in Maryland history in career field goal percentage (.594). Jones earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors this season for the second straight year. Jones averaged 13.7 points and 11.7 boards in the Terps' three-game run to the Big Ten Tournament title this past season and was named to the All-Tournament Team. She earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award at the end of the season and graduated with her degree in kinesiology this spring.
