Missouri puts four into finals for 26.5 point lead over Central Michigan at MAC Championships

DEKALB, Ill. – In the first Mid-American Conference Championships since the conference expanded to 15 teams, returning champion Missouri led the team race, placing four into Sunday’s finals at Northern Illinois University.
The Tigers who have advanced to the finals include No. 1 seed Brock Mauller (149), No. 2 seed Dylan Wisman (184), No. 3 seed Allan Hart (133) and No. 3 seed Jarrett Jacques (157).
Missouri is seeking eighth straight MAC title, and their ninth straight conference championship, as they won the Big 12 the last year in that conference. The Tigers have scored 112.5 points, and have a 26.5 point lead over second place Central Michigan, who have 86 points.
The Chippewas have three finalists, all who are No. 1 seeds: Drew Hildebrandt (125), Dresden Simon (141) and Matt Stencel (285).
Rider, Clarion, Kent State and Northern Illinois have a pair of finalists.
There is a wide range of talent in the expanded conference. There are 11 of the 15 teams in the conference with a finalist, as Old Dominion, Cleveland State, Buffalo, Lock Haven and Edinboro have a single finalist.
Rounding out the top five in the standings are host Northern Illinois in third with 67.5 points, Rider in fourth with 66.5 points and Lock Haven in fifth with 54.5 points.
As a conference, the MAC has 41 automatic NCAA qualifiers.
