JiuJitsu Times reports Bo Nickal to compete in Third Coast Grappling event on Dec. 7 in Houston

Today, JiuJitsu Times has reported that U23 World champion and three-time NCAA champion Bo Nickal will compete in the Main Event at the Third Coast Grappling event on December 7 in Houston, Texas.


The story announces that Nickal will battle Gordon Ryan in the Main Event, replacing Erbeth Santos who was scheduled to compete against Ryan. Previously, Ryan's opponent was supposed to be Rodolfo Viera.


According to the story, the bout will be modified Third Coast Grappling rules, which is 15 minutes long. To win, an ahtlete must submit the opponent or score the most points.

The Third Coast Grappling website has changed its website graphic for the event to feature Bo Nickal vs. Gordon Ryan, with a photo of Nickal included.


There is no mention of this yet on Bo Nickal's Twitter site, nor on his website BoNickal.com


The event will be broadcast by FloGrappling.


This is Nickal's first competition since winning a gold medal at the U23 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary in freestyle wrestling in October. With his U23 title, Nickal has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Wrestling at his alma mater, Penn State, April 4-5.


The competition will be held at The Ballroom at Warehouse Live, 813 Saint Emanuel Street, Houston, TX 77003. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with grappling starting at 6:00 p.m.
