Campbell, with four champions wins SoCon Championships, with Appalachian State in close second

BOONE, N.C. – Led by four individual champions, Campbell edged host Appalachian State to win the Southern Conference Championships team title.


Campbell scored 95 points, with Appalachian State at 92.5 points. Appalachian State won two of the three matches between the schools in the finals, but it did not prove to be enough.


Champions for the Camels were Korbin Meink (125), Joshua Heil (149), Benjamin Barton (157) and Chris Kober (184).


Appalachian State had three champions Codi Russell (133), Randall Diabe (197) and Cary Miller (285).


Other individual conference champions included Chris Debien of Chattanooga (141), Tyler Marinelli of Gardner-Webb (165) and Neal Richards of VMI (174).


Chattanooga placed third in the standings with 62 points.
