WCWA releases final rankings prior to national championships

The final rankings prior to the WCWA Nationals have been released. The national tournament will take place Feb. 8-9 in Atlanta, Ga.

There are few changes in the newest installation of the WCWA rankings.

On the team side of things, Menlo remains No. 1 followed by McKendree. Wayland Baptist comes in at No. 3, while Simon Fraser and King are tied for fourth.

There was only one change to the top-ranked individual wrestlers. Reports are that Nicole Depa, a three-time WCWA finalist for Simon Fraser, will not compete in next week’s tournament and has been removed from the rankings, making way for a new No. 1 at 136 pounds, Nicole Joseph of King.

The other nine Nos. 1 are still set, including Asia Ray of Wayland Baptist at 101, Alleida Martinez of Menlo at 109, Gracie Figueroa of Menlo at 116, Dominique Parrish of Simon Fraser at 123, Abby Nette of Emmanuel at 130, Jayden Laurent of Lakeland at 143, Alexandria Glaude of McKendree at 155, Brittany Marshall of Wayland Baptist at 170 and Paige Baynes of Wayland Baptist at 191.
