Augustana (SD) to move to Div. I, which would add another NCAA Div. I wrestling program

Augustana University, an NCAA Div. II college in Sioux Falls, S.D., has announced a new strategic growth vision.
As part of this campuswide plan for academic excellence and growth, according to local media, Augustana plans to make the transition from NCAA Div. II to NCAA Div. I in its athletics program. It was included in a strategic vision approved unanimously by its Board of Trustees.
Augustana sponsors varsity men's wrestling, led by head coach Jason Reitmeier. Currently Augustana is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. In wrestling, Augustana is ranked fourth in Super Region 5.
Local media reports indicate that Augustana is seeking to join a Div. I conference for the 2021-22 academic year.
