MINSK, Belarus – For the second straight day, two U.S. Grapplers won medals in the Veterans division at the Grappling World Championships, this time competing in Gi Grappling on Friday.
Claiming a gold medal at 100+ kg/unlimited was Gabe Beauperthuy (Colorado Springs, Colo./Edge MMA & Fitness) in the Gi Grappling discipline. Beauperthuy also won a gold medal on Thursday in the No-Gi discipline.
Beauperthuy won all four of his bouts on Friday, including a victory over Nemeth Krisztian of Hungary by injury default in his final bout.

Jason Cumiford (Lacey, Wash./United Training Center) won a bronze medal at 71 kg/156 lbs. for the second straight day, adding a Gi bronze medal to the No-Gi bronze he won on Thursday.
Cumiford finished with a 2-2 record in his division, with wins over opponents from Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
Beauperthuy is also the USA entry in the Senior-level Grappling World Championships, where he will compete in No-Gi on Saturday and Gi on Sunday. The USA will have a full squad of men and two women competing on Saturday in the No-Gi competition.
