Andrew Cruz, a heavyweight sophomore wrestling for Mt. San Antonio College, has been named Tech-Fall.com California Community College Wrestler of the Week.
One of the most exciting situations in wrestling is when the outcome of a dual hinges on result of the heavyweight match.
Sunday’s State Dual Championship between Fresno City and Mt. San Antonio offered just such a treat.
With Mt. SAC trailing Fresno City 17-19, Cruz delivered a thrilling 5-4 victory in triple overtime to lift the Mounties to a 20-19 win.
