Gardner, Provisor to appear at Border War in Cheyenne, WY this weekend

Wrestlers and fans attending the Border War Three-Style Tournamentin Cheyenne, Wyo. on January 24-25 will have the opportunity to see more than justgreat youth wrestling.
Special guests making an appearance at the event include 2000 Olympic gold medalist Rulon Gardner and two-time Women’s World Team member Leigh Jaynes Provisor.
In addition to his Olympic gold medal, Gardner was a 2004 Olympic bronze medalist and a 2001 World Champion. He is a native of Afton, Wyo.
At the event, Provisor will be doing a demonstration on freestyle technique. She will also be signing autographs and selling fundraising items to raise money for her upcoming quest to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero.
Provisor said that she finds it important to give back to the wrestling community in Colorado, where she lives. Her trip up to Wyoming is part of her commitment to youth wrestling.
“I'm excited to be spending the day alongside the Olympic Champ Rulon Gardner. He's a hometown hero here in Wyoming, and I'm humbled to be surrounded by someone who has been where I want to go,” said Provisor.
After the two-day tournament, Provisor will be traveling back to Colorado Springs to watch her husband, 2012 Olympian Ben Provisor, compete in the Jack Pinto Cup – The Springs.
The Border War Three-Style Tournament is a youth wrestling competition in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The event features wrestlers ages 12 and under in the styles of folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman.
