14 American women ranked in the February UWW freestyle rankings

The new United World Wrestling women’s freestyle rankings for February 2015 are now available.
There are 14 American athletes that are ranked in the top 20 women’s freestyle wrestlers in the world at their weight class.
The top ranked American remains 2014 World champion Adeline Gray (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) at the No. 1 spot at 75 kg.
The next highest Americans in the rankings are two-time World medalist Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./Sunkist Kids) at the No. 2 spot at 55 kg and 2012 World champion and four-time World medalist Elena Pirozhkova (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury WC) at the No. 2 spot at 63 kg. Both earned wins at the 2015 Dave Schultz Memorial, although Pirozhkova moved up to 69 kg for her Schultz title.
Two-time Junior World champion Victoria Anthony (Huntington Beach, Calif./Titan Mercury WC) jumped to No. 9 in the 48 kg rankings after being at the No. 12 spot last month. Anthony grabbed a win in the finals against 2008 World champion and 2012 Olympic Bronze medalist Clarissa Chun (Columbia, Mo./Sunkist Kids) at the Dave Schultz Memorial, 8-0.
Two-time World Team member Whitney Conder moved up three places to sit at No. 6 at 53 kg after winning the gold at the 2015 Dave Schultz Memorial.
Two-time World team member Alli Ragan (Carbondale, Ill./NYAC/King University) is ranked at No. 6 at 58 kg after a gold medal performance at the Dave Schultz Memorial International.
Two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has the No. 11 spot at 48 kg.
Erin Clodgo (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids), who was previously ranked at the No. 18 spot, now holds the No. 16 place in 63 kg. Clodgo recently defeated Kayla Aggio (Rohnert Park, Calif./Gator/OKCU RTC) in the championship bout at the Dave Schultz Memorial International.
Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) moved up to No. 14 at 69 kg after earning a silver medal at the Dave Schultz Memorial International. Miller defeated Veronica Carlson (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) in the semifinals to reach the finals round where she faced Pirozhkova.
2014 U.S. Open champion Jackie Cataline (Alhambra, Calif./Titan Mercury WC) sits at No. 16 at 75 kg, a jump of five places in the rankings. 2014 World Team member Jenna Burkert (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) is ranked No. 20 at 60 kg.
Three Americans who were not ranked in January have joined the international rankings for February. Chun is No. 17 at 48 kg, 2012 Olympian Kelsey Campbell (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) is No. 19 at 58 kg, and Leigh Jaynes (Colorado Springs, Colo./Army WCAP/NYAC) is No. 17 at 60 kg.
All three medaled at the Dave Schultz Memorial International. Jaynes won gold, while Chun took silver and Campbell won a bronze. With Chun joining the rankings at 48 kg, the USA has three ranked athletes at that weight class.
The top ranked women’s freestyle wrestlers in the world in February were: Eri Tosaka of Japan (48 kg), Saori Yoshida of Japan (53 kg), Chiho Hamada of Japan (55 kg), Kaori Icho of Japan (58 kg), Sukhee Tserenchimed of Mongolia (60 kg), Yulia Tkach of Ukraine (63 kg), Aline Focken of Germany (69 kg) and Adeline Gray of the United States (75 kg).
UWW announced the international women’s rankings on National Girls and Women in Sports Day in the United States.
