First five U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers get draws for UWW Cadet Worlds in Bosnia-Herzogovina

SARAJEVO, Bosnia- The first five U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received draws for the first day of the 2015 UWW Cadet World Championships, which begin Tuesday. This event features the world’s best 15-17 year old wrestlers.


Two members of the 2014 UWW Cadet World Team compete on Tuesday, Taylor LaMont of Utah at 58 kg and Dominick Demas of Ohio at 63 kg.


Lamont opens against Ivan Gaidarji of Moldova. This will be the third straight year that LaMont will compete on the UWW Cadet World Team. LaMont was a Junior freestyle champion and Junior Greco-Roman runner-up in Fargo.


Demas has drawn Saurabj of India in his first match. Demas placed eighth in his weight class last year.


At 50 kg, 2015 Junior Nationals Greco-Roman champion Dack Punke of Illinois will open against Basar Abdulamet of Turkey, who was third in 2015 European Cadet Championships.


Two other Americans compete on Tuesday.


At 54 kg, Paul Bianchi of Wisconsin will open against 2015 Mediterranean Cadet Championships bronze medalist Pavlos Karakozidis of Greece.


At 100 kg/220 lbs., Anthony Piscopo of Pennsylvania faces Bader Ali Hasan of the United Arab Emirates in his first match.


The U.S. team is coached by NMU-OTS Head Coach Rob Hermann of Marquette, Mich. and World Team Coach Nate Engel of Annapolis, Md.
