Three wrestlers within one win of Triple Crown as finals are set in Cadet Nationals freestyle event

FARGO, N.D. – Three wrestlers have each moved within one victory of capturing prestigious USA Wrestling Triple Crowns in the Cadet division. 

California’s Jaden Enriquez (126 pounds), Wisconsin’s Beau Breske (170) and Minnesota’s Keegan Moore (182) landed spots in the finals of the Cadet Nationals freestyle tournament Thursday afternoon at the Fargo Dome.

Those wrestlers already own Cadet Nationals titles in Folkstyle and Greco-Roman this year. 

The Cadet freestyle finals are set for 2 p.m. Friday in Fargo.

Enriquez will battle Indiana’s Chad Red in the finals. 

Breske will meet talented Kamal Bey of Illinois in the finals in a rematch of the Cadet Nationals Greco finals.

Moore will face Utah’s Wyatt Koelling in the finals. 

There are eight other Cadet Nationals Greco champions who reached the Cadet freestyle finals and are a win away from being double Fargo champions.

Those wrestlers include California’s Nicolas Aguilar (94 pounds), Arizona’s Roman Bravo-Young (100), Nevada’s Ian Timmons (106), Ilinois’ Austin Gomez (113), Missouri’s Ethan Karsten (138), Idaho’s Matthew Park (145), Minnesota’s Owen Webster (160) and Ohio’s Matt Stencel (195). 

Illinois leads in the team race with 78 points, followed by Pennsylvania (51) and Ohio (46). Illinois is looking to repeat as Cadet Nationals freestyle team champion.

There are 979 entries in the Cadet Nationals freestyle tournament, an increase of more than 100 athletes from last year. There are 46 states represented in the Cadet freestyle field.
