University Nationals Greco-Roman Finals set

The finals of the 2013 ASICS University National Greco Roman Tournament are set and are scheduled to get underway at 3:00 PM at the University of Akron's Louis and Freda Stile Athletic Field House.


At 70 KG, U.S. Open runner-up Kendrick Sanders of the U.S. Olympic Education Center (USOEC) breezed through his competition on his way to the finals. Sanders used his signature reverse lift to win by technical fall against Michael Hooker in the quarter finals (8-0) and went on to tech Josh Speelman in the semifinals (9-0). Sanders will face off against Will Keeter of the Minnesota Storm in the finals.


At 74 KG Kory De Berry of Tucson Badger Wrestling has yet to give up a point all tournament, winning by technical fall in each of his first three matches. De Berry will meet Geordan Speiller of the Florida Jets in the finals. Speiller, a member of the 2012 U.S. Junior World Team, won by decision (6-0) in the semifinals against Tanner Andrews of the USOEC.


After a first round bye Max Nowry of the USOEC won his next two bouts by technical fall to earn a bid in the finals against Trey Andrews of Team Bear Cave.


All final matches will be best two-out-of-three format.
