VANADZOR, Armenia -- The U.S. won four freestyle medals, including two gold medals, at the competitive Stepan Sargsyan International on Saturday.
Claiming individual gold medals were 2013 U.S. World Team member Brent Metcalf (Iowa City, Iowa/New York AC/Titan Mercury WC) at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and Clayton Foster (Laramie, Wyo./GRIT Athletics/Cowboy WC) at 84 kg/185 lbs.
Metcalf won a very competitive weight class, winning five matches on the way to the gold.
Foster, who was second in the 2013 U.S. World Team Trials, won three bouts to claim the title.
Claiming a silver medal was Angel Escobedo (Columbus, Ohio/New York AC/Ohio RTC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. Escobedo was second at the 2013 U.S. World Team Trials.
Earning a bronze medal was Chris Perry, Stillwater, Okla. (Cowboy WC) at 84 kg/185 lbs. Perry, a 2013 NCAA champion for Oklahoma State, is a past Junior World bronze medalist.

Two U.S. wrestlers weighed in and received draws for Sunday. World and Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs will compete at 74 kg/163 lbs., where he draws Giorgi Sanodze of Georgia in his first match. Burroughs has a 56 match winning streak in Senior-level freestyle coming into the competition. Also competing on Sunday is Chris Pendleton at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
