Lindenwood-Belleville adds varsity women's wrestling program

Belleville, Ill. -- Lindenwood University - Belleville has announced the addition of women's wrestling its sport roster. Women's wrestling will mark the 23rd sport added in the two and a half year history of LU - Belleville Athletics.
"We are very pleased to add women's wrestling to our athletics department" said Director of Athletics Scott Spinner. "Women's wrestling is an emerging sport across the country and we're excited to be a part of it."
The Lynx have had significant success with men's wrestling this season, taking second at the USCAA National Invitational. Lindenwood - Belleville looks forward to the addition of women's wrestling and the impact it will have on the expanding athletics department.
"We have certainly grown a lot in the past two and a half years and we're proud to be offering such a wide array of athletics opportunities for students" said Spinner.
