Illinois beats Indiana to win the 2012 NWCA/USA Wrestling National Scholastic Duals

Team Illinois Navy defeated Indiana Gold by a 33-24 score to capture top honors in the 2012 NWCA/USA Wrestling National Scholastic Duals.


Illinois Navy trailed defending champion Indiana Gold during the early weights, but came on strong in the upper weight classes to secure the victory.


Team Kentucky had a very strong performance finishing in third place. Leading Kentucky was undefeated 113 pound Brock Ervin, who earned the meet's Most Outstanding Wrestler Award.


Also winning their way into the championship pool, Team Indiana Blue finished in Fourth Place, followed by Virginia and Colorado. Team Colorado won the National Scholastic Duals Sportsmanship Award.


Eighteen teams competed in this event on the campus of Wabash College in Crawfordsville Indiana April 12, 13 and 14.
