Fans of the Waynesburg University wrestling team are encouraged to head out to John F. Wiley Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 8. Prior to kickoff of the Waynesburg vs. Geneva homecoming game, the Yellow Jacket grapplers will be recognized for winning their second-straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) wrestling title this past February.
The Jackets dominated Thiel and Washington & Jefferson en route to the overall team crown at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Waynesburg captured six individual weight championships, saw now-graduated 174-pounder Jared Roberts named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament and now-fourth-year head coach Ron Headlee picked up his second-straight PAC Coach of the Year award.
Kickoff between the Yellow Jackets and Golden Tornadoes is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
