Dan Gable Museum to host women's national wrestling team

WATERLOO, Iowa -- The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable and the Iowa Women's Foundation will host the women's national freestyle wrestling team on Dec. 4. The women's team will visit the museum following a week-long training camp in Iowa City.
The athletes visiting the museum are expected to compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will be held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City on April 21-22. Terry Steiner, a 1993 NCAA champion at Iowa and USA Wrestling's National Women's coach, is returning to the state as the leader of the U.S. women's wrestling program.
A wrestling demonstration by the women's team will be held at 9 a.m. in the Dan Gable Teaching Center, which is located inside the Dan Gable Museum. This event is free and open to the public. The museum is located at 303 Jefferson St. in Waterloo.
