Did you know that 70% percent of kids quit playing sports by age 13? According to the experts at Positive Coaching Alliance, the dropout rate becomes alarming as early as 10 years old. And when kids are surveyed about why they quit, the number one reason they cite: practice and games stopped being fun. Specifically, kids talk about the inability to handle the pressure to win, the yelling at them for making mistakes, and being made to sit on the bench game-after-game watching other teammates play.
In honor of keeping our kids on the right track for them, because we know that some have that ability to go far in wrestling and need that kind of environment, while others enjoy the sport for the competition, the friends, and just having fun on the on the mat or in the gym; the team here has some helpful tips.

The Liberty Mutual Responsible SportsTM program supports volunteer youth sports coaches and parents who help our children succeed both on and off the mat. We offer many youth sports resources including $2,500 community grants, instructional videos, weekly tips, peer and expert advice, and coursework for those interested in improving the youth sports experience for all involved.
