U.S. men & women to compete in Shaheed Bhagat Singh International in India, Feb. 10-12

The United States will compete in the 2011 Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament that in Jalandhar City, India, Feb. 10-12.
Members of the U.S. men's team are Joe Johnston, Columbia, Mo. (MWF) at 66 kg, Marty Usman, Colorado Springs (GRIT Athletics) at 84 kg and Wynn Michalak, Colorado Springs, Colo. (Gator WC) at 96 kg. In the recently updated rankings by TheMat.com, Michalak is ranked third in the country in his weight class while Johnston is ranked fourth and Usman is ranked eighth.
The U.S. women competing in the tournament are top stars in college wrestling. Team members are Nicole Woody (Odenton, Md./OCU/Gator WC) at 48 kg, Carlene Sluberski (Fredonia, N.Y./USOEC) at 51 kg, Ashley Hudson (Wildwood, Mo./OCU/Gator WC) at 55 kg, Christen Paysse (Fullerton, Calif./Univ. of the Cumberlands) at 67 kg and Melissa Simmons (Ridgefield, Wa./OCU/Gator WC) at 72 kg.
Woody and Hudson both won the WCWA Women's College Nationals held on Jan. 29. Sluberski (51kg) and Paysse (67kg) came in second at the WCWA Nationals while Simmons (72kg) earned third place.
Medalists at the tournament in India will receive cash prizes of $2,000 for champions, $1,000 for runners-up and $500 for bronze medalists.
