SZOMBATHELY, Hungary - Four U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for Saturday's competition at the FILA Cadet World Championships.
Three of the wrestlers competing on Saturday won FILA Cadet National Greco-Roman titles in Akron, Ohio in April: Lincoln Olson of Michigan at 42 kg/92.5 lbs., Hayden Tuma of Idaho at 58 kg/127.75 lbs. and Ryan Gartner of Wisconsin at 69 kg/152 lbs.
Olson opens his competition against Ramiz Mammadov of Azerbaijan.
Tuma drew Sergey Emelin of Russia in his first match. Tuma was second in Greco-Roman and was a freestyle champion at the Cadet National Championships in Fargo, N.D. this summer.
Gartner will battle Sargis Khocharyan of Armenia in his opening bout.
The other U.S. wrestler competing on Saturday, Gabe Schroeck of Clancy, Montana at 50 kg/110 lbs., will compete against Sunil Sunil of India in his first match.
There is also competition at 85 kg/187.25 lbs., but the United States does not have an entry in that division.
Coaching the Greco-Roman team is Mel Dow of Stoughton, Wis. along with National Greco-Roman Developmental Coach Ike Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Four other U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers compete on Sunday, the last day of the Cadet World Championships.
